History
Founded in 1993, ICS is a private, coeducational day school, offering an American college preparatory curriculum to the international community in Bangkok. The school's ownership lies with the International School Educational Foundation, a not-for-profit foundation registered in Thailand. Since its inception, ICS enrollment consistently increased and outgrew the original leased facility. The ICS Educational Foundation Board and the ICS administration, with the generous support of the families of ICS, purchased the current 16.2 rai plot of land in Bangna and began building in 2003. International Community School opened the new Bangna campus in September 2004 with close to 500 students in K4 - grade 12. The original campus at Soi Prong Jai was closed in June 2007.

Accreditation
ICS is a not-for-profit school operated under a charter from the Ministry of Education of Thailand. ICS is accredited by the Western Associaton of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Enrollment
ICS has an enrollment of over 950 students, representing more than 21 different countries. ICS offers four-year old kindergarten through grade twelve. Enrollment includes approximately; 307 Elementary students (K4 - grade 5), 295 Middle school students (grades 6-8), and 341 High school students (grades 9-12)

Faculty
The high school faculty of ICS is comprised of a high school principal, two high school counselors, two media specialists, 39 faculty members, and 30 support staff. The majority of our teachers and staff are recruited directly from the United States and Canada. Our staff is well qualified and trained to prepare students for success both in and out of the classroom.

High School Schedule
The ICS school year consists of two semesters (August - December and January - June) for a total of 180 school days per year. We work with a modified block system in which students attend eight subjects per week divided into five 70 minute classes per day.

Athletics
ICS currently offers basketball, soccer, badminton, volleyball, cross country, and swimming throughout three seasons. ICS also runs an intramural program for soccer at all levels.

Academics
ICS's academic program is college preparatory in nature and emphasizes both community service and AP class enrollment. We presently require 40hrs of personal community service (PCS) as well as additional hours in our Serving and Learning Together (SALT) trips each year. In addition, we offer 12 AP courses and continue to add to our offerings. Class rank for each student is based on a grade point average that is weighted and cumulative for grades 9-12. The average includes all courses taken at ICS but does not include transfer grades from other schools.

Senior Capstone Service Project
In order to graduate from ICS, every ICS student in the class of 2015 and onward must also complete a Senior Capstone Service Project (CSP). This entails that all students research a real-life problem, gain hands on knowledge of the issue by spending many hours in service towards helping with that problem, come up with possible solutions, and write a reflective paper describing their experience. They then must present their findings and final product to a panel of educators at the Senior Capstone Service Project Fair in the 2nd semester of their senior year.

Graduation Requirements
In grades 9-12, one credit is awarded for each one-year course completed with a passing mark of "D" or above. One-half credit is earned for completion of one semester. A minimum of 26.5 credits are required for students to graduate.
